Welcome to our web site, which certainly is a work in progress. But we think we finally found a software tool (www.shozam.com) to get the job done.
We hope you enjoy our photos and stories. If you have questions, please email us at info@bronmans.com
We were both born and raised in The Netherlands. Marcel lived most of his live close to the harbor-city of Rotterdam and Jannette
grew up close to Utrecht, more in the center of country. We met each other on a cross-country ski trip in Norway in 1994 and it was clear that we had definitely one thing in common: the great
outdoors!
After this ski-trip, our next destination was a bike/hike vacation in Canada (Vancouver Island/British Columbia/Alberta) and it was in this wilderness area that we first started talking
about "traveling
around the world". Less than a year later, we left our jobs, sold our house and cars, stored our furniture and packed our bikes to leave for two full years. It was a big decision,
because we both had good jobs with lots of perspective, but until today we have never regret it for one single moment.
After we came back, we settled in Belgium for a year and a half, because of a job offering and in February 1999 we moved for the same company to the United States, where we still live (2008).
We made hundreds of photos over the years (many we hope to post on this site), but from our 2-year bike trip we have two favorite ones. One picture shows Marcel cooking dinner on the beach
in Abel Tasman N.P. in New Zealand. It shows the freedom of traveling: you can put up your "house" every day in another place, and have your "kitchen" wherever you like it best. The other picture
shows Jannette meeting a kangaroo on Kangaroo Island in Australia. The abundance of wildlife we have seen on our travels around the world is truly amazing; sometimes it takes a lot of patience
to spot wild animals, and sometimes it feels like you know each other already for years.
