Wyoming/USA 2008:
Cycling through Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park

facts | photo album | travel log

We cycled along the Grand Tetons, looping through Yellowstone National Park (lower loop) and back along the Grand Tetons to Jackson, Wyoming. We rode during the 3rd week of June 2008. Jackson had a long and cold winter with record snow levels and a cold and wet spring. We have been watching the weather for weeks - and the week before our trip they had a blizzard, leaving two feet of snow high in the mountains. But the day before we arrived the weather turned and we had perfect weather (but still cold nights) every single day. We had the feeling that late June was still "early season" for Wyoming, which is not true. While calling around for a hotel room for our last night in Jackson, we discovered that this is already high season and most hotels/B&B's were fully booked.
